Ms Sarah Elgazzar is a policy and communications advisor. She has worked extensively in community engagement around the world, with a particular focus on marginalized populations including vulnerable women and children, and racialized groups. She has worked as a public figure, as national spokesperson for the National Council of Canadian Muslims, and as a strategic advisor and lecturer, in institutions such as the Cambridge Muslim College, in the United Kingdom. Ms. Elgazzar was also part of the founding team of Research for Impact in Singapore, a social enterprise conducting transformative policy research in Singapore. She currently sits on the Board of Governors of “Institut F”, a non-profit organization based in Quebec, Canada, dedicated to the empowerment of Muslim women, and on the Executive Committee of OBAT Canada, a charity helping displaced populations and refugees in Bangladesh. She currently serves as Commissioner on the Law Commission of Canada, and volunteers locally with the Muslim Wellness Network. Ms. Elgazzar graduated from McGill University and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (NUS), with a B.Sc. in Psychology and a MPP (Valedictorian), respectively.
